The end of another great weekend, another ride report to be written. It started with a lunchtime beer at the Dros where SCP and I met Oppad who was on his way to the “Buff”. Already there were bikes everywhere. Always nice to meet a fellow Wild Dog. All forum members seem to be great guys – I am yet to be disappointed.
Saturday morning we got the bikes to the farm for a day of riding, watching rugby and a nice braai.
Choices choices. So many dirt roads around here.
We went past the neighbors
and just generally rode around.
We enjoyed the day and hatched a plan to go explore the mountains on Sunday. Saturday evening ended up in dinner with Oppad, KiLRoy and Lucky Striker. Thanks guys! It was great to meet you. You were invited to come ride with us on Sunday – look closely at what you missed:
Sunday we set out – direction Outeniqua mountain range.
Up the slippery dam wall.
Through the gate and into the mountains!
We rode higher and higher, armed with our permission permits. The views were spectacular.
Soon we were in the mountain forests. This area is simply breathtaking.
Every so often we’d cross a river. Nothing refreshes like mountain water!
Next time we’ll come and have a picnic.
Back on the bikes – lots more to explore! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…
