Well, who can resist a challenge like that? I have entered the Turkana Safari and received the registration number 42. The challenge runs over the course of a year and my progress will be covered in this Ride Report.
How does it work?

The 15 challenge items are:
1. Photograph your bike with an ostrich.
2. Photograph your bike on a trip with a sunrise and ‘n cup of coffee.
3. Photograph your bike on a camping / glamping trip.
4. Photograph your bike at a roadside braai.
5. Photograph your bike next to the ocean.
6. Photograph your bike at Gariep dam.
7. Ride passes with a cumulative height of 10 000m.
8. Do one 400km trip.
9. Do one 800km trip.
10. Do one 1200km trip.
11. Visit at least 4 provinces.
12. Visit and support a rural farm stall.
13. Visit a Turkana dealer and take a photo with a product.
14. Visit 5 National Monuments (List Here)
15. Visit two of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites (List Here)
There also are voluntary single challenges:
1. Photograph your bike with snow in the photograph (lucky draw).
2. Visit a neighbouring country (lucky draw).
3. Prize for the rider that travels the most kilometres during the challenge.
4. Prize for the best photograph as deemed by the organizers.
5. Prize for best adventure spirit.
This is going to be enjoyable! And a great motivator to ride more. My number is printed.
Here we go! Challenge pictures / ride links will be posted as we go along!
