Cederberg Trip

.

When this blog started off it was only going to be a collection of holiday and trip stories to be shared with friends and family. It obviously grew into much more than that, but this post takes the blog back to it's orignal purpose. It's just a holiday post of a recent trip and it does not even feature a bike (oh the horror! ).

Yeah yeah I know, it's not the same, but I decided to combine work and play otherwise we'll never get away.

Our wheels for this trip - the Nissan Navara V9X:

It all started when a friend of mine, White Stripes, decided to go camp in the Cederberg near the waterfall close to Eselbank. Apart from amazing scenery, bright starry skies and a chance to reflect there is nothing there. No "formal" camping spots, no facilities, nothing. Just GPS coordinates of the general area of where they wanted to set up camp. It was perfect!

I have been waxing lyrical about the beauty of the Cederberg and desperately wanted to take the family there. This was the perfect opportunity to show them all the places I've talked about. It was easy to talk them into the trip, we all love to travel, but I don't think they (especially my wife) believed or realized that we'd stop somewhere in the mountains and just camp next to the road...

The trip also served as a shake-down trip for the 4x4 Navara and in the end it made one hell of an article!

A very nice and capable vehicle indeed.

But lets start at the beginning:
